Front-end Semi Con

A large earthquake caused the failure of a sprinkler head within a manufacturing cleanroom.  The resultant water dispersal caused heavy water contamination to a Japanese manufactured mask aligner.

With significant BI cover and an estimated 15 month replacement lead-time, we worked closely with the Insured to ensure that the OEM considered all available recover options.  Our engineering and process knowledge assisted the Insured in securing the OEM’s assistance in recovering the affected tool as opposed to replacement.  Our continued involvement secured a further reduction in the recovery period from an original estimate of more than 3 months to achieving completion within 6 weeks.  All warranties were reinstated by the OEM.
